Gift Guide for Writers and Readers

It’s that time of the year! Everyone is looking for great gift ideas. Sometimes finding that perfect gift isn’t easy. So, today I’m bringing you a Gift Guide for Writers and Readers.

1. Scrivener

Scrivener is a word processing program designed for writers. It was created to make writing a novel or really any long document a little easier. It includes an outliner feature, virtual index cards, and the ability to work on scenes in any order you’d like. It’s available for Mac or PC, so no matter what computer you have, you can still use Scrivener. Here’s their website where you can learn more:

2. Writers Write Print

This adorable print offers lots of encouragement to keep you writing. It comes from the Etsy shop, “thedreamygiraffe.” She has lots of great prints that are both writing and non-writing related, so hopefully you will be able to find a great gift for at least one person on your list. 3. The Chicago Manual of Style

This is THE book to answer all your grammar and punctuation questions. The 16th edition has an updated section on electronic publishing and modern capitalization rules. You can find this book on Amazon.com for around $40. Here’s the link:

4. BookFiend shop

No, I’m not suggesting you buy the actual shop! 😉 You might end up buying everything in it, though. The Etsy shop, “BookFiend,” has some really neat necklaces, stickers, and bracelets about writing, reading, Doctor Who, and the Lord of the Rings. What’s not to love? One of my personal non-writing related favorites from there is the “Don’t Tell the Elf” keychain. Here are some links to listings in the shop that I think would make especially great gifts:

5. Keyboard Decals

Okay, okay, so this isn’t going to help you write, but this could jazz up your keyboard a bit! These are stickers that press onto your keys to give your keyboard a new look. The designs of the decals range from galaxies to rainbows to Van Gogh’s Starry Night. Here’s the link for some for Macbooks:
