Weekly Writing Wrap-Up: April 25 – May 1

Welcome to my Weekly Writing Wrap-Up for this week!

Total Word Count for the Week: 9199

Top Writing Day: My top writing day was Sunday with 4232 words.

What I Worked On: I worked on my Camp NaNoWriMo novel, God Save the Queen. I also edited Snow and worked on Snow‘s sequel, Storm, and a bit of Star Trek fanfiction.

The Good News: I finished God Save the Queen!!!! YEAH!!!!

The Bad News: I know I have A LOT of editing and rewriting to do before GSTQ is even close to being a finished novel. So, the first step is done, but I have a ton more work to do.

Lesson Learned: I started editing Snow this week, and it’s more of a mess than I remembered. XD Anyway, one thing I learned was how important it is to read your novel out loud. I read the beginning out loud at a writer’s group I went to on Tuesday and realized that the beginning needed to be shortened up a lot. So, I’ve been reading through it out loud to make sure that things flow nicely and that I’m not going on and on and on.

Goal for Next Week: My goal for next week is 600 words a day. I’m dropping my word count back down so I’ll have time to edit Snow as well as work on Storm.

If you’d like to share your weekly wrap-up, go ahead and post it in the comments below!
